Royal Lytham is one of the greatest links courses in the world, host to ten Open Championships, two Ryder Cups and numerous other major tournaments. This is a links course with two strange aspects-there are no sea views and the course opens with a par three. It is fitting that the Open should return to Lytham in the year after the passing of Seve Ballesteros, one of his favourite courses where he famously won two Opens in 1979 & 1988.
